Gastroenterology
Gastroenterologists specialize in the treatment of the digestive
organs, including the stomach, bowels, liver and gallbladder. They treat conditions such
as abdominal pain, ulcers, diarrhea, cancer and jaundice. They perform complex diagnostic
and therapeutic procedures using lighted scopes to see internal organs. They consult with
surgeons when abdominal operations are needed.
